Keeping your body happy and healthy should always be high on your priority list, especially this year with all the things happening in the world that are more stressful than usual.
Including certain foods into your daily diet may help to keep your immune system strong but they are not enough, some daily habits are very important too.
Start to use these simple habits daily to boost your immune system and live a healthier and happier life.
Drink water
Obvious, I know. But most of us simply don’t get enough.
Drinking plenty of water keeps your body well hydrated and helps draining the everyday toxins.
If you struggle with getting in your 2 litres a day, consider downloading a hydration reminder app and if you’re not a fan of plain water try adding lemon, cucumber or other fruit.
Sleep
Another obvious one but sleep is one of the most important ways to improve your immune system. A good 7-8 hours of sleep allows your body to regenerate and to keep your immune system strong so it can protect you from illness.
Make sure you’re getting your vitamins
Studies have shown that some fruits and vegetables provide nutrients that can boost immune function so here are some of them:
Citrus fruits: rich in vitamin C increasing the production of white blood cells which they are key to fighting infection
Broccoli: full of vitamins A, C, and E as well as many other antioxidants
Garlic: fights infections and contains allicin helping immune boosting properties
Ginger: decrease inflammation and chronic pain⠀
Spinach: rich in vitamin C and loaded with numerous antioxidants and beta carotene
Almonds and sunflower seeds: two of the highest foods in vitamin E⠀
Turmeric: contains high levels of curcumin which has anti-inflammatory properties
Papaya: loaded with vitamin C and anti-inflammatory effects
Kiwi: contains potassium, vitamin K, folate and vitamin C
Exercise
Daily exercise help release endorphins in your body, eliminates toxins, keeps you in good shape and your immune system strong. A walk around your neighborhood, a yoga session, some stretching, bicycling, running are some of the exercises you can try and they totally have a positive impact in your health.
Reduce stress
We all hear that a happy mind = a happy body. And during these uncertain times, it’s important to take care of your mental health.
It’s very important to manage your stress levels. Stress is hard on your mental and physical health and can have many detrimental effects on your body.
Spend time in nature, exercise, express gratitude, journal, meditate, go for walks, cook your favorite meal or treat, call a friend and read a good book.
And if you’re feeling negative thoughts listen to your favorite music and sing and dance around your house. This will help you change your mood very quickly.

Thank you 😊
I believe that avoiding packaged foods is a first step to be able to lose weight. They might taste very good, but prepared foods have got very little nutritional value, making you eat more only to have enough power to get over the day. When you are constantly eating these foods, switching to whole grains and other complex carbohydrates will assist you to have more vigor while consuming less. Good blog post.
I just downloaded your app and I’m in love. In the past 2 years I’ve narrowed MRSA to a point if I got to the hospital 4hrs later I would be dead. Then I had pneumonia that filled one lung up with fluid and that was awful. I felt one more illness would have done me in. I know how to take care of myself but I just forgot to. So with my 42nd birthday around the corner, your app is gonna help me get back to good. Thank you so much.
