It’s Okay To Live At Your Own Pace

Slow down when you need to. Give yourself permission to ease into it.

Recognize that when you need to stop or slow down there’s nothing wrong with it.

Give yourself permission to start small. To take baby steps. To do things at your own pace. The small steps might not seem to make that big of a difference but they do.

Don’t rush things just because society tells you that. Eliminate any thought that there is an expectation that you need to do anything at any age. You do not have an age cutoff or deadline. Life can be fulfilling at both 16 and also 60. 25 and 45. Joy is timeless. You just need to learn how to make the most of where you are. You don’t have to be married or have kids by 25, to graduate college, have your dream job at 30…There are no rules in life. Just go at your own speed. There is no designated time for anything in your life.

Life is not a race. No one has taken your place. Where you are meant to be, you will be in time, no matter your age or stage of life.

You don’t have to take it all in at once. Take the present moment without worrying about the moments to come. Breathe deep and let this moment be enough. Let this be a place where you find peace.

It’s okay if it takes a while to get into the rhythm of things. Some things might take more time for you to process than other people. Some things are not quite ready, or you are not ready to go right away. Just be gentle and compassionate with yourself when it’s taking longer than you expected. Be patient. And trust the process.

I know that this world will ask a lot of you, but remember this: This is your life. You have control over it, no one else has. You’re allowed to change your mind. To change your direction. To do things slower. This is your life. Make it count. Make your own validation. Your own path. Your own way of life.

Your direction is more important than your speed ❤

I’ve been struggling with self esteem and insecurities from my past and childhood, from being a new And first time mom at 36 to being not only a first time mom but a single first time mom living on my own the the first time ever And dealing with a lot of emotions that are unsettled. 1. This was the first thing I saw after downloafing the 21 day challenge app. I hadnt even selected my language yet. I know this topic iw something that a lot of people stuggle with if not most people but I can’t express how much this said the things I needed to hear when i needed to hear them.
I turned 30 last month and the last few years have taken everything from me from my home, my health, my happiness. I’m starting over completely in life it feels like and i spend every day feeling like I’m too late with the things I need to do. I often feel like my best days are behind me and have trouble looking forward to much.
I literally feel as if the world grew up without me and I lost my place in the world.
Im not going to lie and say this post has completely changed my mindset, but i will say that it was a comforting reassurance that gave me a push to fix my perspective more than before reading. I guess what I’m trying to say is to the author: thank you for letting me know that im not the only one who feels this way and the fact of that means that I’m not the only one strugging to be where i feel like im expected to be which means I won’t be alone when i finally get myself together. Thank you.

    3. Love it
      Definately needed to be reassured

  11. Hello Miss Kati 👋🏼
Thank you for posting this. I am very grateful. This is exactly what I needed the most.🥺❤️
I love the way you have written this i.e. not targeting a particular topic so that the reader can put in whatever their thoughts are about it. Being a college student who has now graduated and having a bad memory has made me forgot even the little studies I did in college. It makes me feel dumb each day. That my brain has become dumb and dull that i couldn’t do anything anymore and even if i did try i will never be able to study it all again. This killed me everyday. The shame i was feeling everyday that i don’t have time and that people around my age are getting jobs and I am studying again my highschool subjects. It’s still killing me everyday and that too i have been procrastinating a lot, which in end the results in zero. My brain has become of a highschool kid’s. I have forgotten a lot of things and learning then again makes me feel so bad. After reading your article i realised that it’s ok to take my time and I don’t have to rush. I did set some life goals for my 25 self but i don’t think I will be able to complete it, thinking that made me feel more bad. Procrastination was on another level 🥺🤣😅
Everyone is different and I don’t have to think about the society.
This was really killing me that I will be know as a dumb jobless person 🤦🏽‍♀️
But now i am feeling a lot better after reading your article. I am very very thankful of you. This is exactly what I needed to hear 🥺❤️❤️.
    Keep on writing ❤️
    Regards
    Lazy 🧘🏽‍♀️

  14. Thank you and I do need to slow down and be more Patient with the process, and just accept this is who I am . To accept my failures as life’s lessons to what it’s making me today , I just want to think everyone that has been patient with me and knows my heart is for good . Amen

    1. Thank you
