Things to do every night before bed

Getting good, quality sleep for the right amount of time every night is an absolute game-changer in your life. A night routine is just as important as a morning one!

Having a relaxing nighttime routine can release stress, wind your body down, and get it ready for sleep. So, if you’re someone who has trouble falling asleep, it might be because you don’t have the right night routine.

Without further ado, here are 10 things you can do at night to get you relaxed and ready for bed:

👜 Prepare everything for the next day:

Get all the stuff ready the night before to reduce meltdowns the next morning. Prepare your meals, pack your snacks, your bag, outfit, everything you will need. You’ll see that your morning will be so much peaceful if you just take a few moments to prepare each night.

🧘 Stretch or do some yoga:

Stretching before bed relieves stress and gets your body relaxed and ready for sleep. This helps to improve flexibility and releases the tension built up in your body from a hard day’s work.

📖 Plan and journal:

Plan everything for the next day, write all your priorities, and journal! We all have a million things going on in our heads, so dump all of your thoughts onto that paper. Write down anything that comes to mind. This process will help empty your mind and get it ready for bed.

📘 Read:

Reading eases the mind and helps you to feel sleepy. It can also help with insomnia, reduce stress, better your memory, and mental abilities. If you prefer, you can always listen to podcasts or your favorite book on Audible.

🪔 Meditate:

Meditation is a simple practice that can reduce stress, increase calmness and clarity, and promote happiness. Doing it before bed can get you super sleepy and ready for a good nights’ rest.

💆‍♀️ Skincare:

You really should have a proper routine for your skincare. I know it may be tempting to be lazy when you are just so tired. But just do it every day. Your future self will thank you.

📵 Turn off all screens:

Turn off all screens at least one hour before bed. Social media is the worst when you are preparing your mind and soul for sleeping. Turn on a few lamps and read a book. It is going to instantly relax you and send signals to your body that it is nighttime.

💤 Go to bed early:

Your body needs rest and an adequate amount of sleep to function at its best. Is essential for the body to recover and prepare for the next day. By going to bed early at night, you’ll be able to get up early in the morning. By working out at what time you need to wake up, you can set a regular bedtime schedule so that you can easily get out of bed.

✨ Practice gratitude:

Write down or think about things that you are thankful for or good things that happened to you today. Even if you have had a bad day, instead of focusing on the negative stuff, try and find at least one good thing that happened.

🛀 Take a warm bath:

Play some relaxing ambient music, light a candle, and take a warm bath. You’ll feel so much more peaceful and relaxed.  They can really help improve overall sleep quality and fall asleep faster
