How To Practice Gratitude

It is so important to learn how to practice gratitude in our daily lives.  Showing gratitude is one of the best ways to live a happier and healthier lifestyle. When you begin to realize everything you have to be grateful for, no matter how small, this is when the benefits of practicing daily gratitude really make a positive impact. You will appreciate even more this world and your life just the way they already are.

Have a Gratitude Journal

You can begin by writing down just one thing you are grateful for each day. It could be having the most loving family members, the sunshine or the rain, the sounds of the birds, the smell of your morning coffee, having enough food, hot water, or good health,… It can be anything.

After a while, you’ll be surprised for being grateful for the most minor things in your life that you took for granted. Being grateful for just one thing each day is enough to positively shift your mindset.

Small Acts of Kindness

Do one act of kindness for yourself or someone else to help you practice gratitude daily. This makes you feel good about yourself. It doesn’t have to be something huge. Just a simple smile or hello can make someone’s day.

Be Grateful For The People Around You

When you show gratitude to your loved ones, they become much more inspired to spread love to other people in their lives. It’s a cycle of kindness and love.

You can show them your appreciation and love by calling, texting, or having heartfelt conversations with them. Tell them how important they are to you.

Thank You Notes

Send grateful notes to your loved ones or pin them on your bedroom door or mirrors. Keep some grateful notes in your wallet, and frame a gratitude quote or affirmation on your wall. You can also set reminders in your phone to automatically remind you to find things to be grateful for throughout the day. Or change your phone wallpaper to a quote or affirmation that reminds you to be thankful.

Gratitude Practice Before Dinner Time

Before starting dinner, think to yourself or say out loud what you are grateful for today. And start feeling grateful for the food you have in front of you.

Create a Gratitude Jar

Collect small notes of gratefulness and put them in a jar. On days when you’re struggling to have gratitude, pull a few notes from the jar and read them.

Remember, starting a gratitude practice only takes a few minutes a day, and a few simple actions. But the impact it can have on your life is huge! ❤
