The morning plays a very important part in your day. So, there is nothing better than creating a morning routine to set you off on the right path for the day ahead.
For mornings to be more intentional, productive, and peaceful there are a few things you need to avoid doing. And your morning will feel a little less stressed and a little less overwhelmed.
Checking social media
This is a big one for many people. Try to not check your phone right after you wake up. Social media can wait and you’re not losing anything.
By doing this, you not only help save your energy but you’ll have way more time to focus on the things that matter and start your day right.
Skipping breakfast
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, remember this. After all the hours of rest, your body needs nutrients to give you the energy to go on with your day. So, nourish your body with healthy and nutritious foods and avoid sugary breakfast options.
Reviewing email, news, or working from bed
Checking all the news and emails or working right as you open your eyes is not the best thing for your mental health. Choose a time in the morning to start your workday.
Drinking coffee before water
Your body is dehydrated in the morning and coffee is not the best option when you first wake up.
Instead, drink a glass of water to help you hydrate, stimulate your digestion, and enhance your metabolism. You’ll feel more awake and energetic. Then you can have your coffee.
Hitting the snooze button
I know, this is our worst enemy in the mornings. But don’t do it! Each time you’re hitting that button you’re making it harder to be productive and waking up every 10 minutes is terrible for your brain and it leaves you tired throughout the day. So just get out of bed the moment your alarm takes off.
Complaining
Don’t complain about how early it is, or the amount of work you have. This will put you in a bad mood.
Remember that, the words you choose to express yourself have an effect on your state of mind. Start your day with gratitude, love, and positive affirmations even if you don’t feel like it. Fake it until you make it and you’ll see how much your mornings and mood will improve.
If you start your morning avoiding these habits, you will notice changes throughout your day and your life. You will feel calmer, less stressed, and more productive.

Thanks for the tips, Kati. I am trying to do one these tips at a time. Now, instead of checking my phone, I just get up, put on my shock, and do light exercises. I think changing a bad habit is difficult, but replacing a new good one is much easier. Don’t give up, everyone. You can do it.
